Something Tiger Said after his win, that woke me up!

I was talking to a buddy of mine yesterday, who lives in Arizona and plays on the mini tours. We started talking about Tiger and he said “he’s a freak of nature”.

Tiger has everyones mind blown. How does he do this week after week and at his age, all ready tied Hogans record? The answer is not hard to figure out when you listen ti him and really think about it. He said it in the press conference after his win. He wants to win and be in that moment so bad, that he works harder than everyone else. He didn’t just start doing it, he’s done it his whole life. With the help of his mom and dad, he took full advantage of the opportunity he was given. He went above and beyond everyone else, even as a junior golfer. That prepared him for where he is today. He said this is why he wakes up a so early every day, goes to the gym, and practices his butt off!

We can learn so much from what he says, and that’s what woke me up. If you want to be the best you can be at anything you try, then work your butt off! I don’t think Tigers a freak of nature…he just works harder then everyone else…. Congratulations to him! Let’s learn from him and start working harder then him! I think you’ll surprise yourself.

The new members green is under way!

The golf Pros at McGolf will now have private teaching sheds. The sheds will hold state of the art training aids and video equipment to analyze golfers swings.

Our new building, which will offer a full service restaurant called “The Sweet Spot,” will be completed by June 30th.

photos of McGolf on friday afternoon. It was a beautiful afternoon to get some swings in.

Here’s where McGolfs heated covered hitting bays will be. This will allow McGolf to be open year round. We’re all looking forward to this exciting project to be complete.

Now the members will have a place to work on those sand shots!

Muscular aging/Muscular youth!
Her’s a buddy of mine, Adam Poock. He’s a flexibility master for the age 50 set. He’s worked with my dad, a former asian tour player, and has done wonders for his golf game. Adam totally turns around the idea that the older you get, the less flexible you become…this guy is as flexible as your 5 year old niece…he says it’s normal but it’s kind of nuts…

I’m Adam Poock, muscular physiologist and founder of The Ranks. Based on 15 years of experience, working on 1000’s of bodies, I developed a system reversing muscular aging.
The system’s foundation is removing muscular trauma in 8 crossroad areas of your body.
In this website you will learn the Gluing Energy Process– deep tissue massage self applied according to key rules.
More than weights and cardio, The Ranks system identifies 10 preventables of muscular aging.
Getting older is not an inevitable threat to posture pain and performance. With the right physical education you can actively heal, prevent and develop yourself.

Welcome to Generation Ranks!!!
McGolf is OPEN!! Get those Clubs out and strt practicing!

The Pre Shot Routine!
Do you have a pre shot routine? If you don’t, and want to improve, then develop one! If you do have a pre shot routine, do you practice it when you’re on the range? Do you know how long it takes you (in seconds) from the time you take your first step forward from behind the ball, to the time your club strikes the ball?
If you watch the # one and two player in the world (Tiger and Phil), you’ll see hoe consistent their routines are. It takes Tiger between 9 and 11 seconds and it takes Phil between 14 and 17 seconds every time. You’ll see Tiger walk into the ball, set up, take a few waggles (as he zones in on his target), and executes his shot.

See Tigers routine in competition…
You’ll notice Phil walk into the ball with the club in his right hand, spin the club 2 times as he walks to the ball, set up, a few waggles (as he zones in on the target), and executes his shot.
Even though they each have their own style, they repeat it the same every time. If you watch the best players in the world, they have their own styles and repeat them the same too.
If you develop and practice a pre shot routine, you will find yourself shooting lower and more consistent scores. Having a solid and consistent routine will be your weapon when you get in pressure situations.
Try phil Micklesons practice putting drill and make more putts!
Watch this video of phils drill and read the article by Rick Smith to understand what he’s doing. You will, without a doubt be a better putter if you do this drill after each round. Do it when your putting well or not so well. But first, let me give you some advice. Tour players become tour players because they practice every aspect of the game. They hit balls and work on their short game for hours a day. I know its hard to find the time to practice even half the time they do, but if you want to take your game to another level and I know you do, then find the time. Get on a practice routine and stick with it. If you take two hours a day-four or five days a week and work on your swing and short game, your scores will lower. I promise you that! The key is proper fundamentals (so you’re not practicing with bad habits) and patience!
If you’ve watched Phil Mickelson on TV recently, you’ve probably noticed his pre-putt routine. Many times, Phil will stand to the left or right of his putting line and make practice strokes toward the hole.
It looks strange, for sure, but there’s a good reason for it. Golf great Jackie Burke taught Phil a practice drill that he now incorporates into his on-course routine for short to medium-length putts. It’s a psychological ploy that all but ensures Phil will make every short putt he stands over. How effective is it? Phil made 542 of the 544 putts he had from three feet and closer last year, turning knee-knockers into tap-ins.
When Phil practices, he’ll line up 10 balls in a circle, each one about three feet from the cup. He then works his way around the circle, putting every one of them into the hole. When he’s accomplished that, he will line up the 10 balls again, sink them, and continue this drill until he’s made 100 in a row. If he misses, a lot of times he will start over.
The purpose of this drill is twofold. First, it ingrains a confident stroke on short putts. Many golfers try to steer putts into the cup, especially when they can see the hole peripherally. Consequently, their stroke is jabby or off-line.
The second benefit to this drill is that it relieves pressure when you play. After Phil stands left or right of his putting line and makes practice strokes at the hole, the real putt is just one more stroke in succession. He’s simply imagining he’s back on the practice putting green, working his way around the circle of balls.
This is the putting equivalent to pretending you’re on a wide driving range when you’re facing a full shot into a narrow landing area. It will help you relax and will give you confidence that the task at hand is simple.
